Who we are
The Mountain Buggy® story began in 1992 when a New Zealand couple set out to create a new kind of pushchair. They needed a pram that would cope with the rigours of their active outdoor lifestyle and allow them to go anywhere with their kids.
In a case of true Kiwi ingenuity, the fitness fanatical parents designed a stroller that could go off-road in all sorts of environments, without compromising the safety of the child. They called their invention the Terrain and the first Mountain Buggy® was born.
Parents soon discovered that what made the Mountain Buggy® perform so well in the wilderness – its sturdy construction, lightweight frame and manoeuvrability - also made it perfect for the city. Soon it had become the baby stroller most recommended by New Zealand mums.
It wasn’t long before the rest of the world learned about the buggy that enables you to take your baby anywhere and everywhere.
The brainchild of a few creative Kiwis, Mountain Buggy® strollers are still made in New Zealand and exported around the world.
