Thawing out in Rarotonga

1 May 2008
Lisa Jaggi (Toddler)

After a quick stopover in Rarotonga in an attempt to ease our translucent bodies of their ghostly white glow, it's hard to believe that we're finally back home in New Zealand.  The white sandy beaches, cornflower blue skies and toasty temps thawing out our bodies is now only a distant memory as it becomes evident that Autumn is well and truly upon us here in NZ.

However, let me just dwell on that memory for a moment....Rarotonga was bliss...gorgeous weather greeted us and stuck around for the entire time.  Tarn kept us busy dipping in and out of the warm turquoise water, plastering every part of his skin with sand, and collecting shells in his 'boardies'.  To our delight Andy's parents met us there, so we even managed to sneak away for an evening to ourselves - spent enjoying rhythmic Cook Island music, sampling fruity cocktails and eating delicious local delicacies.

Now, the task of unpacking a muddled combination of sandy beach clothes and bulky ski gear still lies unfinished, as I conveniently use this blog to procrastinate against the dreaded task of finding a home for all of the 'stuff' that has accumulated during our travels.  My fear is the more I unpack...the further away our adventure around the world will seem...luckily the photos still need to be sorted...maybe I'll do that next instead.....
