Birthday Party Business

Oh boy…it’s hard to believe that my ‘little baby’ is now two years old! It brings back some pretty vivid memories of exactly this time a couple years ago…memories that really need to dull a little bit more before round two with this next baby in January! (Insert nervous laughter here).
As Andy had the day off, we decided to throw Tarn a little birthday party. So the night before was seen busily decorating the living room with balloons and a homemade banner courtesy of the grandparents. The team effort even extended to making a train shaped cake complete with blue icing to make it look like his beloved Thomas the Tank Engine.
At 11:30pm when we were already more than ready to go to bed, we discovered a large puddle on the bathroom floor with water dripping from the ceiling. Yep, the hot water cylinder had sprung a leak!!! To cut a long story short, it was action stations from here on in. We decided the ‘show must go on’, so just imagine going to bed well after midnight in order to sort the soggy mess and drain the cylinder, then waking early to unwrap presents, having to do dishes in small lots of jug boiled water, not to mention the plumber drilling and banging upstairs, with a party of excited children downstairs!!!
After our busy but successful day was through…I actually found myself wondering whether Tarn will even remember his 2nd Birthday!?! Either way, I know I will!
