Baby booming

Melua Watson (Toddler)
Almost every woman I know is pregnant! And not with their first. It's absurd that this comes as such a shock but it does. The streets of Gisborne are graffitied with buggy tracks through the rain; two years isn't an uncommon time to wait for a spot at daycare; and everywhere you look there are lovely rounded bellies. Although that might just be winter.
Great stuff I say, the more kids the better. I recently read a demographic report that said the 'replacement rate' was 1.5. Not such a practical number so best round upwards. Europe, the report said, is in great trouble.
Well they should come to Gisborne and take some of our water home, there's obviously something in it. We have a 12 year old and an 18 month old in our household and the age gap rocks. Meg's big brother is a star, a helper, and Meg's number one idol. We may yet add to the boom but for now I'm happy admiring my friends and appreciating the epic effort they make for their under 5s every day.
